Enhancing Your Wardrobe

Few things are more discouraging than feeling like you really don’t have anything to wear. OK, maybe that’s a stretch, but you get the idea that it’s not pleasant realizing that your clothes don’t form a complete, pimp-ass wardrobe. Even more so when you don’t have the money to go out and buy a new one from scratch.

Now, normally when people talk about enhancement for men they’re usually not referring to updating their fashion (more like one of these specialized water pumps), but today we’re going to discuss a few things you can do to jazz up your wardrobe without breaking the bank.

All you need is a little imagination and creativity. Here’s just a few tips on how to give your wardrobe a facelift on a tight budget:

Look for Sales

Finding good discounts and sales is a great way to save money on clothes. The key is knowing the best time to find these sales.

Some of the best sales can be found the week after Christmas, not just for clothes, but just about anything. Also, look for clothes that are out of season, such as coats and jackets in the summer, and warm weather clothes in the winter.
Buy Only What You Need

It’s not necessary to go out and buy every piece of clothing that grabs your eye, the main thing is to purchase what you need now. Take stock of the clothes you do have and what’s missing to make your wardrobe complete.

Next, pick out a couple of items of clothing that need replacing the most and purchase new upgrades. For example, maybe you need a new shirt and pair of pants for work

Hit the Secondhand Stores

Don’t neglect going to places like the Salvation Army or shopping on eBay. You can get some really killer deals on great clothes in new or like-new condition.

Another great thing about buying secondhand clothing is that you can find awesome vintage clothing that is still fashionable. And you can pretty much guarantee no one else will be wearing the same thing.

Splurge Wisely

You might be on a restricted monetary diet, but some things are OK to buy if they’re made well and will last you a long time. A quality classic pea coat or trench coat are always in fashion and will last for years to come, so it will be money well spent.

Don’t Forget the Accessories

One of the best things you can do to enhance your wardrobe is to upgrade your accessories. This can make a big difference in your overall fashion, and usually for less money than clothing.

A new watch, necklace, or even a ring or bracelet can spice up even something as simple as jeans and a t-shirt. And, of course (perhaps the most important accessories of all), shoes.

Have Your Clothes Tailored

You may already have clothes that would look ten times better by just spending a few bucks to have them tailored. When your clothes fit you just right, it can make a huge difference in appearance.
